Functional sweetener:Edulcorant is kind of flavoring agent providing sweet taste to foods, while functional edulcorant is a food edulcorant with special physiological function or particular usage. It also means that, it can replace sugar to provide sweet taste in functional foods. It contains two meanings: one is the fundamental one, and it has no adverse effects of health, but can solve the problems induced by intake of sugar. Second, it has adjusting or promoting effects on human health. The edulcorants can be divided into functional glycose, functional oligosaccharide, multielement sugar alcohol and strong edulcorant.

CAS: 87―99―0

Properties: White crystal or crystalline powder, almost odorless. Has a refreshing sweetness, sweetness 0.65―1.00 (depending on the concentration; sucrose 1.00). Metabolic processes in the body has nothing to do with insulin, so it can be consumed by diabetics without increasing blood sugar. because it can not be used by yeasts and bacteria, it acts the role of anti―tooth decay. Easily soluble in water, slightly soluble in ethanol and methanol. Good thermal stability.
