Properties: white orthorhombic(dehydrate) system and white crystalline powder. Melted and decomposed at 244℃. Lost crystal water at 105℃ after recrystalization. Its aqueous was strong basicity and can absorb carbon dioxide. Soluble in water(15%, 21℃), insoluble in ether, slightly soluble in ethanol. It is the infant’s essential amino acid.
