Properties: achromaticity or white thin lamellae or white crystalline powder. Special smell. Odorless, slightly sweet. Melting point is 280-281℃. Unstability in strong acid and cause demethylation. Soluble in water(5.6g/100mL, 30℃), warm dilute ethanol, alkali and dilute inorganic acid solution. Difficult to soluble in ethanol, insoluble in ether. Essential amino acid.
Usage: nutritional supplements. Its effect was equal to DL-Methionine
Application: widely used in seasoning and health food.
