Chemical name: pyridoxine hydrochloride Molecular formula: C8H11NO3 • HCl CAS: 58-56-0 Properties: white to light yellow crystal or white crystalline powder. Odorless, slightly bitter. Stable in air, good heat-resistance. Gradually browning by the illumination, and rapidly deteriorated in aqueous solution. Its aqueous solution to Litmus test is acidic, and pH value is about 3. Soluble in water and propylene glycol, soluble in ethanol. Insoluble in ether and chloroform. It occurs polymerization when heated to 120℃ in neutral solution, but stable in acidic or alkaline solution, non- polymerization. Usage: nutritional supplement Application: used for nutritional foods fortified. Adult daily requirement is 1.5–2mg.
